The description is for a "Konica Minolta M-Hexanon" lens. There is no such thing. Hexanon lenses were made by Konica in the 1980s, for the Konica manual focus camera system. They were discontinued before 1990. In 2004 Konica and Minolta merged, and for a few years Minolta's Auto Foucs Maxxum mount lenses(a completely different and totally incompatible lens mount) were branded "Konica Minolta" before it was sold to Sony and became the Sony Alpha system. Hexanon lenses will not fit on ANY Minolta camera. They work nicely on Konica cameras from the 1980s. And it is possible to get an adapter and mount them onto a micro 4/3 mirrorless digital camera. Hexanon lenses were well regarded in their time. But they are of limited usefulness since they belong to a long-orphaned camera system.Read full review
This Minolta 28mm f2.8lens is quite unique for its appearance. Though it looks very cute and small, it does quite a lot of neat things. Photo quality is outstanding due to the fact that it has an eye like us. Very useful lens for low-light pictures and sharp tact pictures from a strong/rugged body. When I received mine from auction from Ebay, on par with the 50mm/1.7. I loved its look. It worked flawlessly and very fast focusing on my Alpha a200 and a900. Pictures turned out OUTSTANDING!! Recommended. Get it for a good price on EBAY!! I've heard that the Minolta 28mm f/2 is better and more expensive because it's a better quality lens. But I think I'll stay with the f/2.8 for now until I can afford it. Fast and sharp, has retractable lens hood, very compact and dependable for such a cute lens, simple to use, less weight and smaller size lens to fit in bag, and it's a strong lens, It is a full frame also, compatible with all of Sony's current and future Alphas.Read full review
Got this len used condition from a lady here on Ebay. Build quality is fair , no surprises , very small len, fixed 2.8 aperture is good for low light. Image quality is OK , cant compare to monilta's 35mm f/2 but for a prime this size its ok , afcourse micro contrast is great compared to the zooms. Optics here are far better then the zooms , this len is as sharp as a nife. Autofocus speed is pretty slow, so its good for travel and stuff, but not to catch your kid in the move. i give it 3/5 and it's worth the price, yes.
I bought this lens because this is a great time to get into analog photography, and what better way than to buy great used equipment. To think that many analog lenses and cameras are winding up as decorations in fish tanks is disheartening enough, but when you think about getting started in digital photography, there is no ceiling to the entry level price. Furthermore, I have yet to meet someone who really is happy with their digital camera. They are always complaining! Conversely, those who shoot with analog tend to know their cameras and have an inner peace knowing that whatever may happen to their scanned negatives (hard disk crashes?), at least they have the negatives and prints. I expect to be buying more analog equipment in the future. Thank you eBay!
I bought this prime lens to use on my Sony A100 Dslr. I chose this as a cost altrnative to the f/1.4. The lens focuses quickly and the pics are sharp. It's nice to use for group shots especially in low light situations not forgetting to mention it's compact size and very light.
There are many kinds and brans of lenses. Good, regular and bad ones but most of the MINOLTA lenses are excellent. Perhaps the reason is due to MINOLTA manufactured its own lenses. Their quality is superb and last long time without showing any kind of problems but you have to take care of it. I was pleased to adquire this lens at a good price and the results are great.
this is an older film slr lens , that works great with my Sony DSLR and I can set to infinity and take timed photos of the sky without it focusing past infinity like the newer lenses made for dslr's
Like Minolta Lenses. Provides good picture quality. Easy to operate anв take good pictures!____________________________________________________________________
This is a sharp, fast lens. I'm not prepared to give up my zoom lenses, but for a streetscape with ambitions of landing on someone's wall this is the lens I mount.
