About this product

Product Information

The Sigma DG lens for Canon offers the flexibility that photographers need in the field. This motorized Sigma camera lens can take wide-angle pictures that allow photographers to capture landscapes, the sky, or large crowds. This telephoto camera lens, however, also has the ability to take up-close pictures in full detail. The Sigma DG works well with digital and traditional 35 mm cameras. It features a flexible zoom range of 70 mm – 300 mm, with an aperture range of f/4.0-f/5.6. This makes it a uniquely versatile lens for Canon cameras. Professional photographers will enjoy the Sigma DG because it has so many features. Instead of carrying numerous lenses, they only need one telephoto camera lens for all situations. Amateur photographs will also like that the Sigma DG has an auto mode that makes it easy to use without special skills. Anyone carrying this Sigma camera lens into the field will appreciate its lightweight design. This camera lens offers just about every advantage that a photographer could want outdoors or in the studio.

This item was shown as partially functional (2 of the 6 bulbs burnt or bad ballast). Unfortunately, the item arrived with broken bulbs and a partially damaged power cord socket. Otherwise, this unit is in apparent good working order. After I reached out to this seller, we reached a mutually satisfactory resolution and I kept the unit, as I expect to be able to repair this additional damage myself and get replacement bulbs. I am perfectly willing to buy from this seller again.

    Sigma DG 70-300 for Canon

I was looking for a lens that I could use with my Canon 6d that had a little more reach. The price was so reasonable that I decided to give it a try thinking that if it didn't meet my needs I haven't invested that much into it. I wanted image stabilization, but decided I would use my tripod to compensate for the lack of IS on this lens. An added benefit, I purchased a backup camera, a Canon t4i which has a crop sensor and when used with this lens gives me an equivalent of a 112-480mm. I took test shots with both camera bodies using manual focus on a tripod and was very pleased at the sharp shots I was able to get. I then took some hand held shots on the 6d expecting quite a bit of blur, but was able to get some decent shots at 300mm. The macro feature produced acceptable pictures allowing ...

  • Top critical review

Not worth the money for any artistic photography!

I purchased this lens for use with the forensics photography I do. I needed a stand off macro and this seemed to fit the bill. It works and is satisfactory for that purpose with several caveats. 1. The auto focus flat out doesn't work. It's noisy, tries to focus but won't. I do all my focusing by hand with this lens. 2. the lens is not well made. the fit of the moving components is very rough. 3. The clarity leaves much to be desired. It is sufficient for the purpose I need it for but barely. I dare not take a photograph using this lens without a tripod and several captures. 4. Fstop settings on this lens is very inconsistent. The focal field on F11 in one image will be nice and deep but on the next image will be shallow as if I am using F4 or 5. Don't waste your money on ...

  • Sigma zoom lens for Nikon D70s

When all else fails, read the directions. This was my first additional zoom lens & I had gotten used to the twist-zoom feature that came with my Nikon camera. I thought this lens was broken until I decided to read the directions & discovered it has a push-pull-zoom feature. It works OK, but it's much easier & quicker to twist to the right spot with one hand than to have to move the camera & use both hands to get where you want. Maybe with more practice I can get back to one-handed maneuverability and I might rate this excellent, but for now it's good.

  • Sigma 75-300mm: Canon EOS

Contrary to eBay's auto-title, this lens is for CANON EOS (EF Mount lens), Tested with Canon EOS5q 35mm. The lens mechanically is a push/pull zoom system, love it or hate it, Sigma have done an OK job with this one. The mechanism is a little stiff which can make fine grained adjustments a chore. However this does prevent (in my model at least) the zoom creep found in many push/pull lenses. Focus is easy in manual and in automatic there is no evidence of unacceptable hesitation or undue 'hunting' in AF mode. Weight wise, it is not unduly heavy but weighty enough to suggest decent construction, which regarding this is not half bad. The rubber finish makes it easy to grip and feels less frail in the hand than even some of Canon's own lenses. Regarding image quality, whilst this is ...

  • Good lens

For the price, is a good lens. Good construction and good quality pictures. The only down side is the MACRO switch, ussualy get stuck and have to struggle to disengage the macro. Tried different combination to disengage but just can not figure out a way to consistently disengage the switch. Other than that is a good lens for the price. Use it with a Canon EOS 250D
