About this product

Product Information

Julie and her best friend, Ivy, find a baby owl in Golden Gate Park - and it needs help. At a wildlife rescue center, Julie meets Shasta and Sierra, two bald eagles that will be caged for life, unless money is raised to release them back into the wild. For Earth Day, Julie thinks of a unique way to tell the public of the eagles' plight. The "Looking Back" section explores the beginning of the environmental movement.

  • Julie and the Eagles (American Girl)

Ordered at request of granddaughter (almost 8 years old) who is AVID reader and adores "chapter books" and American Girl Doll stories whether she has that particular doll or not. Like Julie, our granddaughters live in the San Francisco Bay area, enjoy the outdoors and are firm believers in the protection of wildlife. Also got them the computer game to go with this book but she is reading the book first prior to the game. Hope younger granddaughter will also read this book when her reading skills progress to that point. Have found all the American Girl books to be outstanding and appreciate opportunity to sometimes get them at lesser price through eBay. Books should be shared and when one child outgrows them it is wise to pass them on to another who will also learn to love reading.

  • Cool.

    It's okay.
