Folkwear Kimono pattern number 113 circa 1977 version Older is Better
I just purchased this Folkwear Kimono pattern number 113 circa 1977 or so. This pattern is better than the more modern version produced later - I lost mine in storage somewhere. Although it's the same pattern from the same pattern company, this pattern has large sheets of heavy paper as opposed to the crinkly more modern type of tissue paper. This means I can trace the whole pattern and use my tracing and thus preserve the vintage pattern without risking tearing the tissue paper of the more modern version. I like that! The instructions have a handwritten feel to them which makes it a little bit more difficult to read for those of us of a certain age - other than that no complaints! I've heard from others that this pattern is more accurate to the Japanese method of making a kimono and ... I just purchased this Folkwear Kimono pattern number 113 circa 1977 or so.
