I was able to connect my Panasonic DVX100 MiniDV camera to my Macbook Pro M1 Max like so: Firewire 400 cable from the camera into a FW400 to FW800 adapter, then this FW800 to Thunderbolt adapter, then a Thunderbolt to Thunderbolt 3 adapter.

So I am appreciative of the seller and very happy with the promptness and the device I received!
