This game is for those who enjoy the old school pc dungeon crawler. Like D & D. You make your own maps and characters. The story is simple explore the floors of the dungeon make maps to take back to the king and fight monsters. A interesting game if your old school for this one's 4 U.

  • Fun and compelling

This game is well worth the price. It is a great dungeon crawler in which you build the map of the dungeon as you explore. The story and fighting mechanics are top tier as well.

  • Better than the first

So I've had this game for about a week and I just reached the 8th floor. I gotta say, this game improves on the weaknesses of the first Etrian Odyssey. First off, the first floor monsters were much more difficult at the beginning. There was one monster I kept running into that was strong enough to one-hit kill one of my level 3 guys at full health! That provided a greater challenge early on. Another improvement is how damage is done. Let me explain what I mean. In the first EO, when you attacked a monster, it would do damage in a range based on weapon attack and strength, like between 45 and 50 damage. In EO2, each character does the same amount of damage against the same creature based on weapon attack and strength, like EXACTLY 47 damage each time. This is better because it allows the ...

  • Etrian Odyssey 2

Without a doubt, Etrian Odyssey is one of the most unique and bold game designs we've seen on DS since its launch. In a generation of gaming where people are talking about the "death of hardcore," and where Wii Sports is enough to topple Microsoft's killer 360 library, it takes serious guts – and impressive execution – to not only attempt something made directly for the most aged and traditional gamer type, but to do it well. Mini-maps are commonplace now days, with auto saving and easy "repeat from checkpoint" gaming basically escorting players from beginning to end like an interactive movie, rather than an actual challenge. That's not the style of Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard, and as our industry starts to lean more and more towards the new "everyone's a gamer" philosophy, we're ...

  • Etrian Odyssey II Heroes of Lagaard

If you have played the first installment of this game and enjoyed it, you will like this even more. If you haven't, buy it anyway, it's superb! As you travel through the labyrinth, you map your progress on the way. You can make notes about traps, monsters and so forth. Every Atlus game I've played is a winner as far as I'm concerned, it's such a shame they don't sell much in europe. Of course the DS games can be bought from the USA, or anywhere, and played in the UK. Get it now!!
