There's a very good reason these command such a high price in 'as new' condition. Once you've used it, you can't do without it ... and Logitech discontinued the product years ago. SetPoint software can still be downloaded, however, so the eight programmable buttons can still perform whatever task you assign to them. The Logitech Cordless Optical Trackman T-RB22 has to be one of the best consumer products ever made. The only drawback is that it's intended for right-handed people. Best Trackball Ever
This is the best trackball ever made. It is not even close. The device itself is perfectly designed for your hand and for hand-movement-free operation. The ball itself is perfectly placed to allow you to use your fingers to move the cursor, rather than the thumb as with most trackballs. This allows for far greater cursor control. Left and right click buttons are also perfectly placed. There are six additional, programmable buttons, including a scroll wheel. I just bought this trackball on eBay. It is my second one--I've have had my first one for six years and it is still working perfectly. Why Logitech discontinued this trackball is beyond me, unless it was just too good and lasted too long. If you find one, buy it.This is the best trackball ever made. It is not even close. The absolute best designed trackball ever made. Nothing else is as good.
PROS: Absolutely the best designed Trackball ever offered on the market with a multitude of functions that are always at a finger tip. The associated software works flawlessly and provide plenty of functions that program the buttons to do almost anything you could think of. They will never make your hand hurt, cause tendinitis, or carpal tunnel syndrome. I've used these trackballs all day long (12 to 16 hours per day) and they have always been comfortable to use without causing any medical problems. How I wish they still made them. CONS: The micro switches used in these trackballs are not high quality switches and always fail after a year or two of use. Replacement parts are getting difficult to obtain and I would recommend using high quality microswitches designed for 100,000 or more ... Once the switches have been replaced with new hi-longevity microswitchs you have a trackball that will operate for 10 or more years. I am currently using one that has been in service for just over 5 years and it still works but I replaced all of the switches with the best Japanese units.. Digi-key has 12.8 mm microswitches that work but I wonder how long they will be available. I recommend stocking up if you want to keep your trackballs in service. Of course this requires the knowledge and ability to remove the old switch and solder in new ones. They are 12.5 - 12.8 mm switches. If you can solder it's not very difficult to do. Good Luck.

Elegant and pleasant
Layout and build quality are exceptional. Left click is a bit narrow and the ruby bearings on my unit are still after 2 weeks not broken in(possibly damaged by previous owner). Finish seems durable on all but the buttons. The smaller buttons on top of the device are small but widely programable as well as the middle click being flakey. The report rate of the mouse over USB is its weakest flaw, being 50 Hz. This can be fixed by use over PS/2.Layout and build quality are exceptional.
