One of the fleet
I now own 6 of these Mantua 4-6-2s. On my railroad we run fleets of like engines like real railroads do. Each loco has small differences and have been customized in some small way to make then unique. This is a good locomotive with a heavy cast boiler and lots of weight making it an excellent puller I regularly pull 19 to 24 cars with these locos on my railroads 3% grades.

Mantua HO scale Steam Locomotive Pacific 4-6-2
This is a fantastic pulling HO scale engine. I had one already and wanted another one because it pull up to about 24 cars (rolling stock). These are the best of all DC engines and are quite durable. They are the easiest engines to work on. Everything Mantua makes are the best in my opinion. Mantua uses an open frame motor design which work great. I would certainly recommend these Pacific engines simply because they are made from die cast parts which make for very durable and easy to work on engines. I first took it apart and cleaned about 25 years of gunk out of the motor and frame, greased the worm gear, lubed all the rods and put it back together. It now runs as good as my original Mantua 4-6-2 Pacific engine. I will always prefer to buy Mantua products simply because they are ... This is a fantastic pulling HO scale engine.
