These Mufflers are what my Dad said where the best mufflers of the 50's they were steel packs back then but the new ones are just the same they sound great on my 1997 Towncar they are not too loud in fact I'm thinking about removing the resonators but for sure they have a nice sound to them I highly recommend these for that old school deep tone

1965 Impala ss with a 350 2" pipe front to back with the 22" Smithys. I reall like when I start it up it doesn't crack off and wake my neighbors. Nice mellow tone at idle and easy take offs. But when you get your foot In to that gas pedal it has a nice crackeling roar. Sounds tight and healthy. Not empty and hollow like flow masters. I feel like the exhaust noise is more out the back as a posed to resignating in the car. For any old car I would buy them again and again. Oh they get a lil louder around 400-500 miles. Perfect!
