    damn good value for money

    The base of this turntable is solid and heavy. It is very quiet. The tonearm pivots are high quality metal, not plastic. I purchased this turntable used and without a needle/cartridge, rubber mat for $140. I purchased a very good quality AT 120 Eb cartridge pre mounted to a headshell for $120, and a mat for about 20 bucks. These list from $199-299 on EBay, so I feel very comfortable. The needle that comes with the TT is entry level, and should be immediately upgraded. Some folks complained about hum...mine is dead silent. The tracking force counterweight is very oddly labeled...as in..... I just could not understand how to set it, and I speak fluent TT, so I used my own tracking force measurement device. I have an old teeter totter type one, but new digital ones are for sale for less ...

    Best modern manual turntable in its price range , classic good looks

    The ONKYO cp-1050 is just what your looking for ! It has classic styling and good looks , buttons are neat and well laid out. It has a hefty feel to it , excellent build quality. I have other turntables that are worth 5 x's what this one is and they are all very nice ..they have a more sophisticated tone arm and are well regarded by audiophiles everywhere. The Onky sounds just as good as any of my much more expensive turntables . The stock cartridge is , o lay for those that just want to spin some old vynal. Anyone that is serious about there vynal collection and demands better performance will want to upgrade to cart , DAY ONE ! ORTOFON 2M Red is light years ahead of the stock cart ...if you have the funds, go with the Blue and ... Wow ! ...you will really be pleased and proud of your ...

    Very pleased

    I bought this turntable a couple months ago and I love it. I'm an Onkyo guy so when I saw they made a new turntable I got excited. I have not been disappointed with it at all. I haven't upgraded my cartridge yet but I plan on doing it soon, and I'm real excited to hear it then. I'm no audiophile, just a music lover and to be honest I don't think it sounds bad with the stock cartridge but I'm going to upgrade anyways. No complaints here!

    Onkyo Turntable

    JUST what I wanted. Had tried a manual speed-adjustment belt-drive table first, but found it a major nuisance to adjust belt every time between speeds. This one is a breeze to operate and has a nice, no-nonsense design as well..

    Punches WAY Above It's Price Point

    Like any other review online you'll see - this turntable punches way above it's price point. Very solidly built, great looking and easy to use. The only demerits I see are the cartridge - which I belive is an unmarked Audio Technica 600 series cart. It's about as run of the mill as it gets, but for many non-audiphile people, it should suffice completely. The tonearm looks nice, and has a solid build but is a little wobbly and needs to be tightened. Also - the RCA cables included were pretty terrible. I pickedup some Blue Jeans cables on Amazon and have not looked back.
