This is the third Roy Campbell CD on Delmark. Cadence Magazine has written "Roy Campbell is a monster trumpeter. He's the latest in a long line that has extended from Navarro through Brownie through Booker Little and beyond." That critically acclaimed album was also on Cadence's top ten jazz CDs for 1992. Ethnic Stew And Brew features Roy's group the Pyramid Trio. Bassist William Parker is the unifying factor in the group. New member Hamid Drake and William have been working together with Peter Br"tzmann since 1994, and in 2000 Roy leapt at the chance to join them.
