    Sanyo SCP 4900 - Old style...but excellent reception

    Bought my Sanyo SCP 4900 to replace a six month old phone with a broken LCD that was not covered by warranty. I chose the SCP 4900 because my wife had one for 5 years that served very reliably. It is bulky compared to todays "laser thin" offerings, but it has excellent reception in areas where many other phones are no longer able to receive a signal. (I work in a heavily re-inforced building that was designed to survive a Cat 5 hurricane...a lot of re-bar and concrete.) Only weakness that was identified in my wife's phone was that the larger plastic screen is subject to getting cracked when carried around in a purse. I purchaced a leather phone body glove, and wear the phone on my belt, so I hope to have better luck.

    Sprint 4900 - 10 on the 10 Scale

    The Sanyo SCP 4900 has superb features. It's rugged, versatile and easy to use. I especially love the calendar and schedule features which allow you about a dozen different alarms. I later had a flip phone that had only three alarms and was constantly reprogramming for my crowded agenda. I do recommend having a backup spare 4900 phone available. One problem only... If the antenna breaks the phone will die a most slow and excruciating death which may break your heart, but you'll at least have time to record your phone book. Internet capable but I've had it both ways. No camera but has a crisp color screen and a nice speaker phone with voice active features. Most people including myself never use these to their full potential. Great cell phone!

    Cell phone

    When I recieved my phone, I had to notify the seller that the ear peice did not work. He told me that he would send me another phone. He said, "keep all the accessories and the battery," and I will send you another one. He did not want me to mail the defective phone back to him. I have waited now for almost a month. I did speak with the seller. He had a phone number on his initial confirmation e-mail to me but it has since been changed. The guy evidentlly does a great deal of business selling older model, new and used phones via e-bay. I have never had a problem using e-bay and have bought several items off the sight in the past. I wanted this phone because it is the exact phone that I have carried for years. My nephews make fun of my "dinosaour phone," but I love it. I am a ...

    Good use Cell Phone

    At this point is being a good and reliable phone. Nice colors. But I feel the menu is a little more complicated than my previous phone, so it takes some time to get use too. I like that the web service is lock and not easy to use without or activate by accident. I don't use it and I don't want my kids using it either. I'm old fashion, in the sense that I still believe on having a cell phone that is just that, a cell phone. You can't get those anymore.

    The Toyota of Cell Phones

    My wife and I both have one of these. We bought them used on eBay because we hated our flip phones. We've accidentally dropped these dozens of times. They're like Timex, they take a licking and keep on ticking. The reception is excellent. The color display is clear and fun to use. You can even record memos to yourself, go to your phone book, or access your personal calendar with just a push of a single button. If you want a good, trouble-free, solid built phone, the Sanyo SCP-4900 is what you want.
