Product Information

Touted as being the only racing simulator to include all the tracks from the 2000 and 2001 Winston Cup, NASCAR Racing 4 features detailed physics and a real-time 3D rendering engine. The game lets you drive one of over 70 vehicles from the NASCAR 2001 season. Once you select a vehicle, you can take it to the paint shop to give it a distinctive look. In the paint shop you can paint on the "unwrapped skin" from the 3D model of your vehicle, or customize the look of your pit crew and equipment. <br><br>Racing selections are Testing Session, Single Race, Championship, and Multiplayer. The Testing Session mode allows you to run your vehicle solo on the track, offering a chance to troubleshoot potential problems with your vehicle's racing configuration. Choosing a Single Race will let you run against computer opponents at the venue of your choice, and Championship mode takes you on the entire NASCAR racing circuit. If you don't find the fourth generation of artificial intelligence challenging enough, test your mettle against the best the Internet has to offer by going online in the multiplayer mode. There you'll find a community of friendly competition willing to swap a little paint on the track.

    Nascar racing 4 by Papyrus

    Need to store when you can't race the full race. Have the computer take control of piting when using joy stick. Papyrus deserves 5 stars for the most realistic racing game. They should have taken nascar 3 and added the great graphics.

    Very cool. Good graphics, good sound, good gameplay.

    I'm not even much of a NASCAR fan, and I enjoyed this game. The cars and tracks look great. The cockpit view, combined with great sound, makes you feel like you're there. With a good steering wheel, it's even better. You can ajust gear ratios, tire pressure, downforce, and more. Set your car up to grip hard and snap your neck, or launch a bit slower and top out over 200mph. You can also design your own paint scheme, using color and a wide selection of graphics. Most importantly, The burnouts are awesome! I haven't really played a game that does burnouts better. You can fill your screen with smoke, and leave black marks around the track. Very fun to play with. If you are a car fan, and certainly if you are a NASCAR fan, check this one out.

    NASCAR RACING 4 (PC Game)

    I bought this because my 11 year old grandson was spending the summer with me--here in the very rural south. He wanted a NASCAR game. I came on-line and found this one. It fit the bill. He was frustrated 'learning' how to use the game. But that's because he's a man-child and doesn't read directions. He just jumps in and starts to play. But within a week he'd learned most of the ins and outs. This game has VERY realistic graphics. I'm not a racer, but it was amazing to see how they'd put YOU in the car! We were playing with a mouse. I'd be even more fun with a wheel or joy stick. But I'm not investing in that for a summer... This game kept him enraptured for hours. It even looked fun to me--a very NON-race-car-person. I'd buy it again. I'm glad I bought it this time. For any race ...

    Worth buying...

    My friends and I have been playing this for years on 4 linked computers. I must say the graphics are great! The garage lets you tweak your car to it's fullest potential. The paint shop is a nice feature too, it lets you customize your car with different colors and import your own decals for a really custom job. I personally have 5 different cars now and working on a 6th. Invest in good hardware like the MOMO wheel and pedals to get the most out of this game.

    Nascar 4

    I originally preordered this game before it was even released in 2001. At the time it was a state of the art simulation. By today's standards it is stil great though other sims have surpassed it's graphics. The BEST part of this sim is the online part of it. Most of the online players of this sim have graduated on to Nascar 2003 or other games. There are still about 30 of us (maybe more that still linger) that race online using this sim. If you buy this, (even if you dont) check us out at groups.msn.com/n4garage. HAVE FUN!
