Great value but difficult to install
Glad I found this for sale as for some odd reason the passenger side mirror on the wife's Subaru developed cracks around the outside? With some research I found the shop manual online that explained how to remove and install this mirror. What they left out was how truly hard it was to get this mirror to "snap in place". I had to get a 90 degree angle joist hanger, cut it off so I could hold it with vice grips and slide the cut off shortened 90 degree angle up under the lower part of the mirror mount so there was something to push against to get this mirror to actually snap in to the lower mount. No back support and no matter how hard I pushed, the back-plate mount just moved around and the mirror simply refused to "snap home" The way it mounts is you insert the top hooked part then ... I had to push so hard I really did think I was going to break this mirror before it finally snapped home. When you push this mirror into the lower mounts you must push evenly across the lower part of the mirror. A small section of wood that fits into the profile of the lower part of the mirror really helps, without that it is really easy to push too hard in one or two spots and crack this mirror before it snaps into place. Be careful, go slow and push on the lower part evenly to get this to snap into place, along with using a rear support like I said. Good luck.
