A Worthy Installment In The Resident Evil Series
Resident Evil Code: Veronica X remains one of the very best Resident Evil games. Being the first to move away from pre-rendered backgrounds and going with fully modeled 3D environments, it suffers slightly in the 'atmosphere' department when compared to the first three games (a bit of graphical fidelity is lost as well), although the fixed camera angles are still there, and the new shifting camera angles do add a lot of suspense and drama. As for character and story, Code: Veronica X does not disappoint, broadening the series mythology and deepening the characters we've known for three games now a bit more while adding some new ones. Gameplay is just what you'd expect-- exploration, close quarter combat, puzzles, limited resources, inventory management, and those beloved tank controls ... Resident Evil Code: Veronica X remains one of the very best Resident Evil games. As for the GameCube version, it's my personal favorite-- i'm playing it on an HDMI modded GameCube and it looks absolutely fantastic (plus, i love the GameCube controller). I've also played the HD version on PS3 (available on PSN) and it was a fine port and looked good, although i prefer the look of these older games on the original hardware (i'm kind of a pixel junkie).

The Redfields Reunite
RE:Code Veronica for the Gamecube continues where Claire Redfield(RE2) searches for her brother Chris(RE1) who goes after the RE series main villain, Albert Wesker. You start off as Claire who's been captured and set free on an island inhabited by zombie type creaures, and your main objective is to find your brother and destroy another Umbrella Corp-made science project. Later in the game you play as Chris, but I'm not gonna get into the whole story. That's for you, the people who may be interested in this game, to see for yourself. I will say that if you enjoyed the previous RE titles, then I would check this game out. There are puzzles to solve, weapons to find, and plenty of enemies to destroy. The big challenge is weapon-ammo rationing, you really need to decide on which enemies you ... Great Game (Unless you already own it on another console)!
I bought this game after selling my PS2 copy, then regretting it. Its a good buy if you don't already own it, otherwise there's nothing new here. Its identical to the PS2 version, except it's on two GCN discs rather than one PS2 disc. It does not support progressive scan, which is a total bummer, but neither do any of the Resident Evil Games on the cube (other than RE4). It is nice to have a copy on Gamecube if you want to own the whole library on one system. It controls well and I never noticed any lag, dropped frame rate or unnecessarily long load time. Again--recommended, assuming you don't already own it on the Dreamcast or PS2.I bought this game after selling my PS2 copy, then regretting it. RE Code Veronica is so good it shoulda been RE4!!!!
I absolutely love this game. I never owned it as a kid (early 2000s) because it was so hooked on RE2 and RE3. I highly recommend this game for any Resident Evil fan. You will feel right at home with Code Veronica

RE series returns to it's original style of game play by balancing the action and strategy aspects of this game very well!!! Great mix of all out action to nicely arranged puzzles and obstacles. Nice arrangement of weapons to find and to use helps raise the action level as well. Story line is equally to par by continuing to tell about the aftermath of the Umbrella fallout after the previous games with the addition of some classic characters along with some new ones. To be honest I've never played a game cube Resident Evil game I didn't enjoy! For all survival horror fans and Resident Evil followers this game is a must!RE series returns to it's original style of game play by balancing the action and strategy aspects of this game very well!!!
