  • Great Value

I love this gun! It's a big value with a small price-tag. It has respectable accuracy considering the somewhat crude sights, fits well in the hand, and points naturally. If I were to detract a star (I won't), it would be because there are no dovetail groove cuts for mounting better sights. Of course you can buy upgraded after-market components if you want those features but that could become a money trap. I think I'll leave well-enough alone, but we'll see. A gun this fun could lead me down that path.

  • Crosman For Life!!!

I did a lot of research for the most popular and most versatile Co2 pistol I could find and the Crosman 2240 won hands down!! But just waiting for something you spent weeks researching was agonizing in it's self!! But I quickly received my 2240 within a week and used the knowledge I learned from the YouTube videos as I dabbed on the Pellgun oil and inserted my cylinder and dry fired a couple times! WOW! Then I loaded it with the awesome Crosman .22 Premier Hollow Points and fired at my target for the first time!!! The wait was worth every minute of it as this is a great pistol to shoot as is. The power is at my finger tips!! Now for a scope/optical sight!!!! Awesome pistol! Thanks Crosman!!! Scott

  • Great pellet gun

This is a very good pellet gun for the money, @460fps this little pistol has some serious takedown power.(depending on the ammo used) one C02 cartridge lasts through 40 to 45 rounds before it needs to be changed again. you may want to change the C02 cartridge at approximately the 40th round to ensure good power behind the pellets, any more than that you lose quite a bit of power. This is a fun, accurate, and powerful little air pistol. I made a pretty good choice with this purchase. I'm considering purchasing a second one since the first one has worked so well. I've had no issues what so ever. Great quality for the price!!

  • Money well spent

The 2240 is a well made, no frills CO2 pellet gun. It is a single shot (one pellet is individually fed after each shot). The speed is high enough to kill a squirrel or other small rodent. The short barrel and sight radius make long shots very difficult. An effective range with a stock pistol is somewhere around 30 feet or less. Most will want to add upgrades, though most are cosmetic and for show. Grips are hollow plastic and to me, detract from an otherwise solid platform. I'd prefer something solid for the grips. Ideally wood (which is what I upgraded to, but rubber would also feel less cheap). But let's face it. This is a lot of air pistol for the money. Upgrading much at all brings this into the low $200s. I would compare this to the 1377 or 1322 (variable pumps) and decide how much I intended to shoot it. For me, more frequent use would warrant the pump models. If it is only used for occasional plinking or to dispatch a pesky pack rat. The CO2 fits the bill.

  • Very versatile.

Great pellet gun with a lot of available options and add ons. CO2 cartridges last well above 30 shots and the ammo comes in several different types. Fits in the hand well with easy loading. I purchased the gun, a picatinny rail, a red laser for the bottom and a red/green optic sight for the top. Shoots perfect everything.

  • Great Product Great Price!!!

I have owned a lot of pellet pistols in my life time. This 22 caliber Pellet Pistol Has Them All Beat!!! This Co2 power house 22 cal. Shoots as straight as most long barrel rifles , and the power when it hits a can, bottle, ect, Was Surprising To Me!!! The handle design will let your hand feel like it was Custom Made to fit me!!! I hope You All Like Your Pistol as much as I Like Mine. Thank You, Daniel.

  • Stable, powerful, well-made, and pretty accurate.

Very stable, heavy, solid, powerful (it shoots .22 cal @ around 440fps), and very covenient not having to pump up 5-6 times. Just load, aim, safety off, and fire. This gun is LOUD. It's almost as loud as a 22 short. So I really cant shoot it around my house at rats without neighbors getting antsy. I DO like the easy side lever bolt action. It's fairly easy to load pellets. I just HATE having to handle lead pellets that much. You need to wear thin, protective gloves. I am not so keen on the CO2 loading mechanism. It doesn't have that typical CO2 turn, turn, click to puncture the canister seal. So since I didn't hear the CO2 cartridge get punctured, I just kept screwing it on tighter, even though the manual said FINGER TIGHT. Yeah and then I used a knife blade to snug it tighter than I can with my finger tips. The manual says FINGER TIGHT. But that's not quite as easy as it sounds. Actually the best you can do is FINGER-TIP-TIGHT. There's a big difference. You cannot get a real solid grip with the side of your index finger and thumb around the knurled end-cap-screw because it is directly under the barrel. I would have MUCH preferred an easier-to-turn knob than what it came with. Or maybe some sort of small, retractable / fold-down lever or thumb screw that you CAN get FINGERS and THUMB TIGHT. But other than that, I REALLY LIKE this pistol. Now if they re-design it, and come up with a better C02 insertion/tightening system, then I would REALLY REALLY LIKE it. But if they made this with a pellet magazine, or a 10-shot revolver, holding, say 8-10 rounds, then I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE this pistol.

  • QUALITY GUN THAT IS FUN TO SHOOT

I HAVE NOTHING BUT POSITIVE THINGS TO SAY ABOUT THIS PISTOL. I FEEL IT'S A GREAT VALUE FOR THE MONEY, FUN TO SHOOT AT DIFFERENT TARGETS IN THE BACK YARD, AND ACCURATE. I KNOW THIS MODEL CAN BE MODIFIED, BUT I WOULD LEAVE IT JUST AS IT CAME FROM THE FACTORY. IT HAS A REAL GOOD FEEL IN THE HAND, EITHER RIGHT, OR LEFT. THE WEIGHT IS VERY COMFORTABLE, AND I USED A CHRONY TO CHECK THE FPS, RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX 440 ON THE CHRONY. THE LOOK IS ALSO VERY BOLD. I OWN OTHER PELLET GUNS INCLUDING A BENJAMIN FROM THE 40'S, A 70'S CROSMAN PUMP,AND A BENJAMIN SHERIDAN. THIS 2240 IS AMOUNG MY FAVORITES NOW.

  • Lots of fun for the money

I bought one of these pellet pistols just to have around for fun pinking. Right out of the box it was sheer delight to shoot. The trigger pull could be a little better but is not too bad, Original sights are not competition style but are adequate. Accuracy is great for such a low cost air pistol. Of course you have to buy a supply of CO2 cartridges and a tin or two of pellets but the cost is worth it. Great to have something I can bounce a tin can around with in my back yard and not upset the neighbors. Also great for dispatching an occasional wood pecker trying to peck holes in your house. This is not a kids toy, it is an air powered pistol for adults or late teenagers. Attaching a shoulder stock to this pistol really helps in shooting it more accurately. There are more accurate air pistols out there but at a much higher cost than this one and not any more fun to shoot.

  • crosman 2240, great gun

this is a very nice shooting pistol, I chronographed it and the it meets the advertised velocity with the crosman 14.3 grain pellets, 5 shots averaged 459 fps second and with the ruger 17 grain pellets it averaged 442 fps, that was on a fresh co2 cartridge, the accuracy is superb, I couldn't be more pleased
