The Sennheiser MKH 50-P48 is a condenser microphone, basically designed for film, TV and other professional purposes. With a frequency response of 40 - 20000 Hz, this Sennheiser professional microphone delivers highly accurate sound reproduction at all levels. The super-cardioid pick-up pattern in this Sennheiser microphone offers better sound and reduced distortion compared to other cardioid microphones. The symmetrical transducer technology in this Sennheiser professional microphone ensures extremely low distortion. A switchable roll-off filter in this Sennheiser microphone balances the proximity effects within a distance of approx 0.5m. The switchable attenuation in the Sennheiser MKH 50-P48 can be used when high sound pressure levels occur during close-up recording or other high-output sources.

The good: Product inside box is new and functions as it should. The not so good: Said it was in NJ, but came from CA. Double boxing would have been nice considering bought as brand new; product box a bit beat up from 3000 mile trip. Also, a simple "Hey, thanks for your purchase" "Hope it arrived ok" type of communication would have been appreciated seeing how it was a $500 plus transaction after tax. BTW, I would have paid extra for double boxing.
