Developed by Shinji Mikami, the creator of the original Resident Evil series, and his team at Tango Gameworks comes a survival horror game that blends terror-fueled tension with brutal action. The Evil Within puts players in the role of detective Sebastian Castellanos when he is sent to investigate the scene of a mass murder at a former mental asylum only to find himself fighting for his life against malevolent undead creatures roaming a nightmare-induced world. <br><br>Tension and fear is ratcheted up as players must locate limited ammunition while also setting traps to defeat monsters in constantly warping environments that twist all sense of reality. As the game unfolds, players will acquire melee weapons to defeat enemies, but will also rely on stealth and hiding to slip past undetected as they search for the origin of the evil force.

    Great survival horror game

    Great graphics, story, atmosphere - but it could really use better mechanics. You have to be right on top of an item to see it and to interact with it. The combat is super janky as well - a lot of punching the air instead of the target.

    Evil Within rules!

    great graphics, monsters, storyline, can be very rather nerve wracking for some. a must have for true horror fans for sure. not recommended for the jumpy and squeamish. the spider lady draws the line for many lol

    Resident Evil 4 with even more intentional gimping.

    The Evil Within is very similar to Resident Evil 4 with a Silent Hill-esque story. The problems stem from trying to shoehorn in old survival horror gimping that has no place in modern gaming. Main offenders: Bullets can land outside of your crosshairs(You can shoot a zombie in the chest at point blank and somehow still miss), Enemies do not stagger consistently(The game tells you shooting zombies in the leg will trip them, which is not always true), The game is letterboxed obscuring your vision in a game where you need to see crawling zombies and ceiling valves, Using matches to burn downed enemies is not fullproof as zombies can instantly swing at you while lying down which on the highest difficulty is an instant-kill. Overall not a bad game but has too many flaws to take seriously. I ...

    Amazing horror game experience

    This game is so amazing I love it. It's really fun and amusing to play. Some scary scenes you might not expect and that's what makes this the best horror game I've ever played. Great, cheap value for a new game from eBay vs bad, expensive value for a new game from GameStop. I'm so glad I got this game off of eBay rather than in GameStop. Love it!
