I don’t think any other gopher trap would have held him by a single foot. Be sure you tie your trap off and I suggest a light wire cable since pulling this gopher out even required digging his tunnel out some. Instruction pictures this but should mention it as well.

We're always battling gophers in San Diego. This time, ChatGPT led me to the Gophinator! AI isn't so bad after all. :) I put 3 of 4 traps in the ground, and the next day we had our gopher! I left the other 2 traps behind, and figured they were just hanging out underground until my dogs let me know there was another trapped gopher! Oooof. Lesson learned, check those traps more often.

Just moves them to their neighbors yard - Newbie tips: 1) Don't get frustrated the first time you set the trap. After a few times you'll be able to do it blindfolded. 2) Attach a 18" piece of heavy wire or nylon to the trap or a good chance you won't get it back. You can also put a little flag of blue tape or whatever at end to help you find the spot later.
