Product Information

Known for his meaty seriocomic novels--expansive works that are simultaneously lowbrow and highbrow--Robbins presents a generous sampling of his briefer writings.

As usual Tom astounds me with his ability to describe people, places, and things in ways only a madman or literary genius can. That statement assumes there is a difference. Tom entertains and educates simultaneously. This book is perfect for a fan of Mr. Robbins. I found it easy to begin a short excerpt, such as the tribute to The Doors, on my lunch break and have finished reading it before my lunch was over. I liked this simply because I tend to not want to lay down one of Tom's novels until I have ingested it entirely. I highly recommend this book to everyone who enjoys the wittings of Mr. Robbins and to those unfamiliar with him as a good introduction. Dustin N.
