The Chatboost is cleanly packaged and comes with simple literature that lays out connecting the Chatboost which is done via bluetooth, on the Playstation, (Accessed Settings- B.T. Devices- Add) and takes less time than the unboxing itself. The Chatboost is equipped with a well-thought-out, 3-position power switch, that is moved according to your current need. (OFF-ON-CHARGE) The Chatboost is independently charged and has brightly backlit keys for easy use in the darkest of gaming rooms. The lights are activated by a cleverly-placed button on the underside of the chatpad which requires no fumbling to find. Engaging the button with a "click" sends a brilliant blue backlight through the keys. The keys themselves could be described as a bit "gummy" side but, not so much that they would be ... Their heights are low enough to not allow large build-up in between the keys but, high enough that you know that you have punched one when typing, though there is no audible "click" here. Use of the Chatboost's keys can be done in both "ON" as well as "CHARGE" modes. When the power switch is moved from the "OFF" to "ON" position, the backlight strobes twice to acknowledge power being supplied. However, when moving from "ON" to "CHARGE", it is the PlayStation controller that responds here. The charging icon should promptly pop up on-screen to let you know that the Chatboost is doing one of, if not its best intended duty. Don't get me wrong here! If you find yourself frequently navigating the pop-up keyboard on the PlayStation with your thumbsticks for whatever reason, this thing is worth its weight in gold simply for the time and hassle it saves you here. BUT...if you happen to be one of the MANY people who have a second PlayStation controller on deck for when your controller in hand dies out....Right here is the solution to your problem. (or an aid to it). In regular, repeated use of my Chatboost's charging feature, I've yet to run my handy little boost-box into the ground. I'll confirm that a full controller charge will come from the tiny keyboard/charger combo and I would assume a full charge....and a half lays inside of the Chatboost. 💯❓❓❓Should you buy it❓❓❓💯 ✴With a price tag this low its not a big hit to the wallet.💲✔ -AND- ✴ WIth performance like this, its not a hit to the face.😎 ✔ ⭐Collective Minds got this one ALL right and they have got a star in their hands.⭐ ⭐If you've never found one... look no further... 💎Here's your GEM.💎

Device must connect via bluetooth, however it is not detected when you power on the PS4. So every time you want to use it it must be manually connected. It is a lot of navigation just to save a few seconds of typing a word using the trackpad on the controller. Plus it has a short battery life so I’m constantly disconnecting it from the controller just to charge it with the hopes I might use it. It’s very hard to plug in as it has to go in at an angle to accommodate for the headphone jack. More or less always feels like I’ve gotta break it to put it on. The good things are it is comfortable once it is property seated & I do like the microphone as it picks up lingo very well. But with gaming headsets so prevalent it’s relatively archaic.Device must connect via bluetooth, however it is not detected when you power on the PS4. Ps4 Chatpad with battery extender
All in all, it does exactly what it is supposed to. I've have had no problems with it and it was almost half the price as one from Gamestop (and other places). It makes chatting with friends on FFXIV a lot faster and easier than the on-screen keyboard. I recommend it to anyone looking for a good chat pad for the Ps4.

Decent product, Bad design. Mine broke on second use.
Did what is supposed to, but there's a few issues. Ring around PS4 button has "teeth" to hold it in place, if you don't know this, it's hard to remove. Upon connecting it, if you have a USB headset, it will hijack sound output and you gotta dig through settings. The connector to the ps4 controller is not perfectly straight so on 2nd use, it collided with controller and now is broken.
