About this product

Product Information

Based on Taito's Japanese arcade game, Power Shovel puts players behind the controls of three earthmovers in a variety of construction-oriented events. Three modes of gameplay are available: Arcade King, License Mode, and Level Editor. Arcade King includes missions from the coin-op, such as demolishing a car, knocking over houses, and pouring large amounts of curry sauce over rice. Money earned in this mode is used to unlock more mini-games, artwork, music, and other items. Two players can also compete against each other in these events in a best of three competition. Players take turns completing each task until a winner is declared.

License Mode provides a series of timed tests (like knocking over poles, parking and digging sand) that must be completed in order to gain your operator's license. The Level Editor lets players design their own courses on a 6 x 6 grid, with obstacles such as holes, electric fences, cones, and sheds. The three available shovels vary in their size, speed, capacity, and digging ability. In each event, players have the option of a first- or third-person perspective.

  • A simple, fun game

I am a fan of older playstation games, and there are a lot of them I missed the first time around. Power Shovel was one of the good ones I finally got a chance to try. After hearing about the odd premise of the game I just had to try it. It's simple: You are a Power Shovel operator, And you use your big rig in lots of crazy scenarios, including part time jobs and battle. You have a "boss" in the form of a little head with a hardhat on that screams at you in Japanese. You earn a salary which buys you crazy things like the game soundtrack, Photos of big tractors and other stuff. The jobs range from the realistic like tearing down houses to the bizzare like saving baby turtles. Each job is separately rated, and you are paid a salary minus deductions for any damage you ...

  • Crazy Japanese construction simulator. A great game that is often overlooked.

Holy cow this game is a lot of fun. You use various heavy equipment to do work on a construction site. When you fail a task or are too slow or spill the dirt you are trying to load a old man starts yelling at you in Japanese. It’s like a crazy combination of densha de go and cooking mama had a nutty construction site simulator baby.

  • GREAT ITEM son says better than perfect.. TY

GREAT ITEM my son said it was in MUCH BETTER SHAPE than described. So given he's the gamer, & can build arcades, while I know this is not an arcade case game, but he's using as stated for his Playstation, all is 110% great. I guess there's a hand unit that goes with it out there in cyber space someplace, but for today, this is the bomb... TY
