I was skeptical, but it's brilliant
I had looked at camera models with WiFi but the price was beyond what I wanted to spend, so I bought a new camera and the mobi eyefi instead. I love it, the app runs on my kindle or my phone and the pictures just pop on with the camera on. It is truly brilliant and so easy to use. I wish all tech was this simple and affordable.

I purcahsed the Eye-Fi card for my older Nikon D3100 DSLR camera. My goal was to be able to shoot photos "out-in-the-world" and be able to post them to a website or social media site quickly, as sometimes it could be days before getting back to a PC with an SD slot. Initial setup was relatively simple as the card was instantly recognzied by my camera, even showing a wi-fi symbol on the screen. On my phone, I followed the instructions to connect to the ad-hoc network created by the card and was up and running instantly. I launced the Eye-Fi app and it recognized that I was connected. A couple of the sample files came over to the phone, but then everything stopped. My camera still showed the wi-fi symbol and it appeared my phone was connected, but nothing else would transfer. I reset ... I purcahsed the Eye-Fi card for my older Nikon D3100 DSLR camera. They had me do a network reset on my phone and format the Eye-Fi card. What if I had completed a whole day's shoot and ran into this problem. They also had me change the delay settings on my camera from "Normal" to "Long." All these steps seemed to have fixed the problem. Fast foward a couple weeks and I was in a real-world situation. After about 100 photos, I decided to take a break and transfer them. This time, however, the wi-fi network was asking for a password. I tried the code on the SD card, but that didn't work. Again a call to support wanted me to format the SD card, which was not going to happen as I hadn't backed up my work yet. I decided to continue for the day, knowing I'd be back at a PC later that evening. A couple hours later I decided to try to connect and again, and voila, no problems. All of my photos transfered without issue. I think with some additional fine-tuninig this product will be fantastic. Perhaps my older camera lends to some of the problems, but for what I need to do, the consistency won't be too much of an issue.

Received a new camera at Christmas & the only downside is having to transfer pictures to share them. Eyefi makes it easy. The camera recognized it as a WiFi card & I downloaded the eyefi app to my phone...it's that simple. Pictures transfer easily to my phone making them easier to share with family & friends. I like that I can disable the transfer thru my camera so I can get rid of bad pictures & keep the good. No more hooking camera to my computer to transfer pictures. Received a new camera at Christmas & the only downside is having to transfer pictures to share them. Eyefi makes it easy. The pros: drop in replacement that allowed my T3i to download pics quickly to my phone. The cons: If you are taking a lot of action shots be aware that this cards will slow down after a 10 shots or so taken in quick succession. 10 shots works out to about 3 seconds on my camera. It needs a bigger buffer. It quit working after about 6 months. It takes records pics, it just won't Wifi them any more. Saved me money
Have a newer camera that has built in wi-fi, but I prefer using my older one w/ the eye-fi card. It's faster, had a simpler set-up and works faster. All for less than $40. Can't beat it. Older camera without wi-fi? Don't buy a new camera just for the built in wi-fi. Buy an Eye-Fi card and save money!
