    easy to install after watching google videos

    My auto mechanic put this job on hold because he didn't have time. He said I should come back at another time for him to fix it. I have to pick up hay and horse feeds on a regular basis, and doing that without a working tailgate is an extra bitch I can do without. So I looked it up and watched a couple of videos on Google, and thought ..."I can do that!". So I bought them on Ebay. Used a couple of plastic ice scrappers to work the cover plate off, stuffed a towel into the openings to keep anything from falling into the tailgate, and used a 90^ plier to help with the squeezing, I got it done !myself!. ME LAKESIDE CALIFORNIA WOMAN --- ROAR :0 You can do it too! :-}

    Quick Fix

    After years of messing around with bailing wire, I stumbled on the fact that there were economical parts available to replace the cheap mechanism that makes the tailgate open and lock on my 1999 Silverado. Once I figured out the proper way to install, it was a 3-minute fix to solve a recurring headache. We will see how long it lasts.
