    Very rugged and durable

    We're likely not using all of it's functions, but in the meantime, it works well for my father who has limited dexterity and is hard of hearing. The voice activation feature is helpful since pressing buttons is often difficult for my dad. Training for my father's voice, however, was a bit tedious but once it's done, you don't need to do it again. The speaker is loud and because the flip top doesn't sit flush with the bottom, it is actually easier for my father to grip and open. We haven't dropped it in water but the fact that it is water resistant is also a good thing. So far, so good.

    great phone, but expensive

    Great phone. A little more bulky then the duraxv, and A LOT more expensive. I bought it because I use T-Mobile, and the older one doesn't have the bandwidth for T-Mobile, and it was missing calls. This one does. Also, this one has the ability to install Android apps. It's not that practical because of the small screen size, however it's a nice feature

    flip phone

    I got this phone after my old flip phone died. This is a rugged phone and great value for those of you who like old fashioned style phones. It is very easy to use and I am sure that it will last me several years. I have had Kyocera in the past and love their phones, this phone is no exception. This phone has a nice weight for its size and is easy to read and set up. The battery lasts about five days before losing charge with light use. Love this phone!

    Kyocera XV E4520 rugged cell phone

    The Kyocera XV E4520 is an excellant telephone. I would have given it 5 stars except it does not have and external switch for the flashlight and it does not have an electronic compass. The electronic compass would work even when there is no cell tower reception or repeater. The standard charging and data socket is reliable and well covered. The sonic speaker is fantastic. It is not class "A" sound but a good "C". The E bay supplier went to all end to supply me with a good phone. I certainly appreciate their efforts. It was listed as refurbished , but it certainly looks totally new to me. I am used to the older Casio phone with the drop in charging docks, but the Kyocers makes up a lot with the standard charging socket. It is rather awkward in appearance and it's heft.     I love this cell phone. It's looks, weight, screen size, key pad size, all of it. If our military would use this instead, they'd pay more attention.

    After learning about it's functions, it is a great phone for my purposes. Another words, I don't use it as a smart phone, it is specifically for calling and receiving calls only, a comm. device. At first the battery life span was a day, when turning off the 4G, and any other svc. that deals with the phone searching, the phones battery life now is for 3 days, and of course depending how much it's in use.
