It is large enough to be an asset if defense from a threat becomes needed, but small and light enough to not be a burden for every day carry. The flipper opening feature lets you deploy it quickly with one hand, then provides a hand guard when in use. It comes sharp and looks great! The extra blade lock ensures that it will not fold under stress, although the primary lock is quite adequate for the job. Best of all...the price is nice!

Cold Steel Knife
The knife seems to be a good knife. I hope Cold Steel has not compromised their quality standards BUT when I see "China" on the blade I am not happy nor secure in the thought of the quality. Taiwan, IMO, is better than China.

Great knife, but the edge is delicate. Should have used better steel.
The blade length, weight, manner of opening, and even the clip are excellent. I really couldn't be happy. The liner lock was very stiff when I first got it, but after playing with it for awhile, it was very manageable and easy. The secondary lock is very good as well, as it gives me a great sense of security when I am using it for rougher jobs. My only gripe is the blade material. If this had been done in S30V or something similar, it would be perfect (especially if the clip were reversible). I'd have paid an extra few bucks for those features. The edge dulls fairly easily on medium cutting tasks, but is simple to put back on with little effort. Thats my take on it. I plan on picking up another one as a backup!

Nearly perfect
The only thing that keeps the knife from being exactly what I wanted is that the belt clip can't be removed because the mounting screws also hold the knife together. I don't use a clip and the knife would be slimmer without it. Everything else about the knife materials and design are top of class

Great for the new urban environment, Handy enough for the farm.
I've only had this a few days, but I really like it already. Comfortable in a jeans pocket, light enough, but still seems well constructed, large enough to be of use if need be. The mechanics, and mechanism seem far superior to most, in its price range. Slick to open, yet easy enough to close, plus the added safety mechanism on the liner lock is very positive, and well thought out, without being obtrusive. All in all, well worth a tryout.
