The D-link AirPlus Xtreme router creates an 802.11g wireless network and shares a single broadband connection wirelessly. Intended for a home or office, the D-link AirPlus Xtreme 4-port router offers superior abilities in transferring large files and heavy network traffic. The wireless indoor range on the D-link AirPlus Xtreme router is 100 meters, and 400 meters outdoors. Small enough to sit on a desk, the D-link AirPlus Xtreme 4-port router is also wall-mountable without the 10/100 Mbps ports straining to offer wireless capabilities to all those connected. The D-link AirPlus Xtreme router, model G DI-624S, provides NAT (Network Address Translation) firewall functionality to ensure security and protect the network from malicious attacks. Additional security features on this 108 Mbps router include WPA and support for the 802.1x connection, with parental controls to screen inappropriate content. With this 108 Mbps router the user can be rest assured that they are protected with TCP/IP and DHCP firewall protocols.

    D-link AirPlus Xtreme® G DI-624S Wireless Router

    It works very well for me. I have a small house and my laptop goes from 5 of 5 bar strength in the same room to 3 or 4 bar strength at the opposite end of the house. The instructions about configuring the router did not clearly state that it had to be done with the wireless computer & that the router and wireless computer encryption settings had to be the same. If it had, it would have taken no time to set up. I use it with WEP encryption. I tried WPA but it didn't work. I can stream video with this & send large email attachments. My bandwidth is about 4 MB download. It seems to be a good value.
