POULAN PRO4218AVX CARB
great price.. HOWEVER, because of a linkage difference in the new carb part of the dust block in the cover housing had to be cut away in order to get full throttle. see attached photos. notice small linkage arm on replacement when trigger is depressed the little linkage would hit the cover housing.

A Lot for the Money but Not the Best Quality
There is an awful lot here for the money. As a result, the carburetor is built cheaply, as you might expect. My biggest complaint is the throttle valve is opened by a crimped rod that passes through a brass bushing, and on my craftsman 16" saw (made by Poulan), the rod was too long to fit under the top cover. It kept hanging up on the rubber seal at the front end of the cover. I would have sent it back but I had a large dead tree that I had to take down. So, I bent the rod at 90 degrees. It mostly does not interfere with the seal now and I did get the 80' ash down and diced up. The saw has recently started to rev high. It seems like the low idle adjustment might be drifting. I'm going to order a kit for the original carburetor and rebuild it. I'll replace this carb and keep it for a spare. ... There is an awful lot here for the money. Great value for the price.
The carburetor was a good fit. One fuel line did not fit through through the gas tank. I used other I'd already had from another job. Could not get the carburetor to start the chain saw. I believe it was a bad carburetor. I will have to order another to see if that was the issue.
