Motorola droid pro - still best qwerty phone

Droid pro, despite of its age still continues to be one of the best android qwerty phones on the market. Among the advantages are the following: physical keyboard, great quality of materials, relatively small size, amazing design, and good battery life; as for disadvantages, the only thing that should be mentioned is rather old operating system. Yet, works fine! This phone is still a good choice, for business oriented persons; or persons, who likes tangible buttons and things, those like me :)

    Outdated technology

Loved it when it first came out years ago. To have a keyboard and touch screen , it was the best of both worlds. However upon me getting one to use as a backup phone, it was short lived. After activation, it worked for an hour, I played music from an app, then it froze and cut off. Trying to power it back on, an android icon popped up with an exclamation mark in a triangle. Ever since it then, when I power it on, it gets to the Verizon droid screen then keep rebooting until the battery dies. If it wasn't for that problem, I would of kept and used the phone. Hesitating on getting another, but don't want to go thru the hassle again.

  • It's a 2010 phone. It is what it is. I personally like it.

This is 2015, where there are great performance phones like the Galaxy s6 edge and iPhone 6. I unfortunately ended up breaking my previous phone and sought to get a phone with a physical keyboard (nostalgic of those days). I am a fan of android and could not settle with blackberry. The latest Android is 5.0 Lollipop and this phone has 2.3 Gingerbread. It is extremely old and sometimes slow but they have the apps I need still available and many are up to date. The shortcut key options are awesome. I love the button on the right that you can link to any app. Quickly opening my third party messenger app is always a plus. I never planned on getting a memory card (even if 2GB is very little memory) but you really are limited if you don't have the memory card. It doesn't allow you to take ...

  • Good, tough, quick phone.

So far so good, no issues yet with this phone! I really like it so far. The battery life is not awesome, but it lasts me throughout the day usually. I think what I love most about it is the keyboard, and the fact that when it gets hot it doesn't freeze itself!!!!! That was the biggest problem I had with my Samsung gem. One thing that sucks though is the camera, up close it takes really really good pictures, but if you try to soom in -- even just a little bit -- on something in the distance, it's blurry and you can't see it. Also, even though it's a 3G phone it still loads internet pages quickly!!

  • qwerty candybar Android: blackberry can sink now :) Quite cheap w/ eBay 2!

Motorola Droid Pro is a great phone. Notes: 1. update to latest stock firmware, mine rebooted randomly before this 2. I advice to remove most motorola social plugins and widgets, backup service etc. My phone now lasts 20 hours easily, and I phone and use it a lot (remote desktop w/ 2x and push mail + camera + music). Software used: Bloat Freezer and Autostarts (both around 1 usd, no free alternatives) 3. I use a set of scripts that switch to 2g mode after 10 minutes of standby and manually re-enable 3g when I need youtube or rdp or medium-high volume internet applications. This greatly contributes to battery lifetime. Still, I'd like a smartphone that lasts 4-5 days so as to not need to charge it every night. Currently a dream, but I am totally satisfied w/ this phone.
