The F-14 Tomcat for the 7800 is the best flight simulator game for the system. The gameplay is fast and responsive compared to the other three flight simulator games. The controls is really complex at first, not only the two buttons on the controller, but also the buttons on a console. Manuel is required if you want to figure all the controls. Graphics for Atari standards, it's very well done. This game is made by Absolute Entertainment the company that supported Activision at the time because it was founded by few employees that quit Activision and they wanted to make their own video game business, it didn't do so well as they thought. Enough of the back story behind Absolute, so the F-14 Tomcat is not a bad game, you can find it complete in box if your a collector. You can shoot the enemies if you can find any, around the sky, and trying to land without killing a number of enemies is a major pain. That is the negetive aspects about the game. Intresting thing it is the only game that some copys for the 7800 had a mixed up 2600 label that I find it funny. Overall the F-14 Tomcat for the 7800 is an above average game, it is the best flight simulator game you'll enjoy out of all the others, the other three is slow, not good, and terrible steering controls. Get this game if you have a chance.Read full review
The Atari 7800 F-14 Tomcat game is a great! In fact its the closest thing to a simulator you can find. I highly recommend it to any one who has an Atari 7800!
I played this game and I must say that it is pretty fun for its time (era in which it was made) it is not as good as the current MS Flightsim X of course, but is a sure MUST for any aviation enthusiast
