    Still a great _phone_.

    Forget the smart phone features, as this is a very old and cumbersome version of Android. It's a great _phohe_ with a long battery life, great reception, and small size. I've seen on the web that you can upgrade to a more recent version of Android, but I've not yet had time to do that yet. Perhaps, in the fall.

    Great Phone, Has Great Features, Not The Best Battery.

    The Samsung Mythic or (SGH A897) is a great messenger touch screen phone. It comes packed with an updated operating system of Samsung's widget based software, witch is neat and easy to use. The main screen has 3 different wallpaper slide, allowing you to put different widgets on all 3 different areas. The menu area has changed to incorporate a new feel similar to the IPhone. Complete with customizable tabs to 5 sliding menu areas. It also has a nice feel to the keyboard when texting in landscape or stand up. I owned the Samsung Empression and to me the Empression seemed to be a littler zipper to the response time, for the Mythic its not as fast transitioning from areas but is not slow either.     I love the texting, the touch screen, the widget bar, the audio quality, the size..i love most things about this phone I don't understand why i need 3 pages of menu options when many of the menu options are in the menus of some of the icons (suchs as the XM Radio icon, even though there is an XM Radio icon inside the AT&T Music menu.) I dislike the battery life. I read in a review of this phone that it had great battery life and it actually does great the first day but if you plan on using the phone, it has to be charged at least once every 48 hours, so i suggest investing in a car charger if you might be away from a place to plug in the wall charger for a while. I decided to buy this phone b/c the last phone i bought was the pantech matrix. After getting attached to the qwerty, the phone ...

    Decent phone for the money with lots of fuctions and good sound quality.

    Phone quality is good. Sound and volume is good. I also bought the phone because of the camera which is also good. Good by my standards are 4 of 5. Cons, I don't like the mini USB connection that is AT THE TOP of the phone , pretty much makes talking on the phone while the phone is charging very annoying, also the phone's battery consumption is frequent.If you can live with that, it's a decent phone (for the money), if you talk alot, I recommend a second battery.Has alot of neat functions, 3 Desk tops, lots of internal storage, controls are pretty straight forward, like the touch screen that has a slight pulse to let you know that you have hit the key. It's not an Iphone or a Nokia n95, but you should be able to pick one up in good shape for under a hundred with charger and storage card, ...

    Samsung SGH A897 Mythic (AT&T)

    FROM CNET: First off as a telephone, (remember when that was the prime reason to have one of these?), it has outstanding performance. The clarity on both ends of the call is quite crisp and has a good volume. It is easy to do extensive customizing of the contacts list. Some have complained that you can't port your contacts from outlook, but for the casual user I don't think this is a problem. Some have also complained that the touch screen and menus are sluggish, I think people are trying to compare this to the iphone or ipod touch screens. I don't think this is a fair comparison. For me the screen reacts as well as most any other non smart phone with a touch screen. Any problems can be easily solved with a simple stylus available from any number of sources for less than 5 dollars. The ...
