    Comparing Rosetta Stone vs Instant Immerson

    Instant Immersion is much cheaper than RS but I do think RS is way overpriced. That said, IIM does not have the same quality built into the programs as RS in that the learners speech is not compared to the language itself when spoken, so really does not provide the true picture as to the progress in terms of weather another person will actually understand what the speaker has said or has tried to say. Hiragana is not really emphasized with IIM as RS does use it and actually has spelling practice of the word or phases that are being taught and requires the learner " to get it right". RS is more suited for the beginning language user, IIM has many popular phrases and can be learned by rote, ie: monkey see, monkey do, however simply listening and attempting to pronounce the phrases or words ...

    Great audio mp3..

    I'm listening to the mp3 on my phone and using google translate for the writing and practicing my speech. This orange 2010 Japanese software package is a great value for under $15. Works fine on my Windows 7 Pro 64-bit OS.
