      Perfect replacement remote

      It’s 1/4 the price as an original replacement and works just the same. Feels good and not cheap. There is no programming needed, just add batteries.

      Doesn't do much

      Kenwood designed this as a Universal remote. It does not control many of the functions on the auto in dash units. I was hoping to reduce the number of times I had to touch the screen. Not sure I eliminated any.

      A Much Needed Accessory If You Own a Kenwood Infotainment System

      Like all electronic manufacturers, Kenwood is always looking for ways to increase profits. One way they have exhibited this is by no longer including remote with their head units. The last flagship unit I bought from them (DNx9140) back in 2009 did indeed come with a remote. The DNX893s I purchased in 2017 did not. This remote works perfectly and helps me keep my eyes on the road.
