    GME ESR meter is a "buy it for life" tool for finding bad electrolytic capacitors. It is not a redundancy tool after a formidable multimeter like Fluke, it is a very useful time-saving testing tool to know the health of electrolytic capacitors. It discharges and reads capacitors in-circuit. Trust me, again, a Fluke branded multimeter isn't going make it any easier. Brand new, well packaged & fast shipping.

    Worth a look if you need an ESR tester

    GME ESR tester is a reasonable bit of kit. It's fast, accurate, and makes a good addition to my bench for testing electrolytic capacitors. It's super easy to use - turn it on, grab the DUT leads with the tweezers and you're good. For the price, I have but a few faults with it. Construction feels rather 'cheap' overall, with the tweezers weakest link in the unit. They are especially sturdy, but for lite duty work, they should be fine. Just remember to go easy with them. While there is a protective boot around the unit, I would not trust it to protect the tester were it to fall from the bench, so caution is suggested. Lastly GME markets the tester as 'Designed and Engineered' in the USA. It is actually a copy of the EDS-88A CapAnalyzer Series II, which sells for twice the price. The GME ...

    Good point -Fast -Easy to use -Seems pretty accurate -Accelerate troubleshooting Less good point (but I was aware of before buying it) -I would like to be able to use standard probe from time to time (I will probably modify it in the future to put either BNC or banana jack connector)

    Definitely a good product, reliable, and well made.

    Fabulous product, wish there were replaceable leads, but, everything is replaceable if you have a need for this product, and perhaps banana leads would bring a new variable into the ESR that would be detrimental. Definitely a good purchase, and the price was resonable.

    Great cap checker for the price, not a toy.

    Used cap checker to find a bad cap on a crossover board. Very easy to use. Will modify to ck axial caps. Need leads a little further apart. Works great on radials. This is a professional piece of test equipment. Well worth the price.
