  • 300 widescreen

Very entertaining true story, but would have preferred the naval battle to be included.300 is in the midst of the Persian-Greco war, Spartan King Leonidas leads his army of 300 soldiers into battle against the invading Persian army during the Battle of Thermopylae. According to legend, their valor and sacrifice inspired all of Greece to unite against the Persian foe, leading to the origins of democracy.Despite a cracking central premise and outstanding visuals, 300 ultimately leaves you feeling more gutted than some of the disemboweled soldiers on display throughout the movie. If 300 represents an evolution in 'virtual' cinema, then at the same time it tells a story that transports us back to the violent roots of western civilization.

  • ONE EXTREME BATTLE TO THE END!

Features Actors:Gerald Buttler, Rodrigo Santoro Running Time:116 Min. Rating:R In mid-September of 480 BC, a force of 300 Spartans, led by King Leonidas (Gerard Butler), along with 700 Thespians volunteers, defended Greece against a massive horde of marauders from Persia at the epic Battle of Thermopylae. Though badly outnumbered by adversaries whose strength was said to be in the hundreds of thousands, the Greeks made one of the most famous last stands in the annals of military engagements. Leonidas' ingenious strategy was to station his soldiers at the narrowest point in the road of the treacherous terrain through which the Persians would have to pass. As a consequence of this clever tactic, his small, but determined army managed to hold the thundering herd at bay for three ...

  • Spetacullars battles and well done scenes

By now, everyone nows already what's it that attrracted so many to this movie: The battles scenes. Forget about the ketchup and fake blood, and start to enjoy the very well planned angles and concepteds scenes. This is pure action. No intended to be historic, the movie is just plain fun. Epical and very graphic battles, lots of blooderings assaults and deaths, great villains and soldiers, the movie is unappolegetic on the over-the-board violence, and the great thing about it is that it works!! Many generations of teenagers will enjoy it, and the fathers will too, with the excuse of: "Look what my son is watching" (but just loving it too).

  • 300~very good~but historical view sub-accurate

300 is the type of movie that you watch and later when you get home find out it was based on actual events in history. 300, based on when 300 Spartans and Greek allies who sworded off millions of the mighty Persian Empire led by the great King Xerxes. The movie was brought together real well and the actors were very believable, seeming that there were no major actors. The only thing I had a problem with the movie is that Hollywood took apart in most of the fight scenes, for instance the Spartan army were known to, when in battle, to keep in rank and closely knit with their shields up so that the enemy couldnt penetrate their defense. In the movie it was like that for a little bit, but after hearing a documentary on the film, the director claimed it would be too "boring" and ...

  • 300 DVD

This is a great movie. It probably isn't a movie that you would let a little kid watch, because it has alot of blood and gore in it. Alot of the movie is actually true, like at the beginning when it tells how the spartans became warriors and other parts of the movie. It will tell you what parts are true and what parts are fiction in the special features area of the DVD. This movie follows the story of king Leonidas (from birth to death). In the movie the so called gods want let Sparta raise an army to face the Persian invaders lead by god-king Xerxes. So King Leonidas takes 300 of his best soldiers to face the invaders. When he finally meets Xerxes, Xerxes thinks that he can not be defeated or even feel pain. So king Leonidas promises him that he will feel pain. Although this movie ...
