I'm very satisfied. This was a gift for my son I've never seen him happier thank you for the opportunity to give him this. Took a bit too get but contacted seller got a quick response with a reasonable explanation and was received within reasonable time. Other than the set back of shipping which as I said was explained and resolved I couldn't have been happier with this purchase/seller.

This unit was sold as is for parts/not working. Although It was about 50 shipped, and 1st generation (9/2007) it was in very nice shape. Extremely clean rear and all the ports were in excellent shape with no loosening or scratches where the port meets the plastic. Even when i opened it up it was very clean inside (consistently clean, not just certain parts). I was very impressed with the fact that its almost working, except the blu ray drive, which is what I was hoping for (since i had a same 40gb with a 3 month newer production date). unfortunately it happens to be one of the few 40GB ps3's that had 2 different blue ray drives and logic board size/cabling and position are are differfent than my 40gb ps3 with a good blu ray drive and RLOD and the heat gun and re pasting the cpu to heatsnks with the correct procedures resulted in an unsuccessful overheating RLOD repair. I was i nthe market to purchase a newer game system, since I had some extra time on my hands with not working and going to school anymore. So I was looking for an affordable product that would have some sort of sustainabiltly and endurnence. I thought I would have purchsed an Xbox360, but got a decent price for the PS3, so why not use the blue ray player right? So when recieving the product I rushed to see how the product works. As I have a had a few games freeze on me, the system plays well, even with a loud disc noise coming from the machinery. Hoping the system doesn't blow up on me, and if the system doesn't it will be an excellent purchase.
Came in quick, everything worked as if it was brand new. I immediately swapped out the harddrive for a 500gb as physical games for this console can be very expensive. Goes great with my vita.
