Porsche quality at a very fair price

The LED light is far better than the original and the key fit as well as the finish of the head are Porsche par. Nice upgrade at a fair price. You need this to find the ignition switch in the dark. Go online to find the "How To's" of removing the key from your old device if you are reusing it. I used the key from the awkward "switchblade" key holder to upgrade my 993.

  • OEM Porsche key blank and head for older 911s

Quality OEM piece, very bright LED light. Fitment list is not complete. This key works fine for my 1978 930. However, you need to be careful when you have the key cut. First place I went (in a mall kiosk) told me there was a 10% chance it would not work (even though I provided the original key for the template for cutting the new one), and that if it didn't work it was not their problem. FTS. Wasn't gonna risk my $60 key with those Bozos. Then went to a real locksmith. No problem. Charged $5. Gave him $10. Take the key to the best, most full-service locksmith you can find. It isn't worth a couple bucks saved to risk having it screwed up.

  • you can do it! depress the little spring, tilt the blade and remove and put in new head with light

The head is fine and great improvement for night or dark trying to find the slot. The slight problem was finding the way to remove the blade from the from the old key. the locksmith knew how to do it. when U open the old head you see a slot with a small spring in it. you must compress that spring to be able to twist the blade for removal. ( by twist I mean you cannot pull it straight out, it must be tilted) If you look at the blade one side slips in and you tilt so the other straight goes in and then that little spring holds it in. I tried for some time to figure it out but the locksmith saw in a second---the little spring.

  • Nice upgrade.

This lighted key head is a nice upgrade from an old aftermarket key. The key head I purchased came with the battery installed.

  • Just what I was looking for

I needed a new key head and this is just what I was looking for. My only comment is that I wish it came with directions on how to change key heads from the one I currently have. How do you separate the head without damaging it and how to insert the key properly. I am unable to find information about this on the internet.
