About this product

Product Information

New York Times bestselling author Jodi Picoult is widely acclaimed for her ability to tap into the hearts and minds of real people. Now she explores what happens when a young woman's past--a past she didn't even know she had--catches up to her just in time to threaten her future. How do you recover the past when it was never yours to lose? Delia Hopkins has led a charmed life. Raised in rural New Hampshire by her beloved, widowed father, she now has a young daughter, a handsome fiancé, and her own search-and-rescue bloodhound, which she uses to find missing persons. But as Delia plans her wedding, she is plagued by flashbacks of a life she can't recall...until a policeman knocks on her door, revealing a secret about herself that changes the world as she knows it--and threatens to jeopardize her future. With Vanishing Acts , Jodi Picoult explores how life--as we know it--might not turn out the way we imagined; how the people we've loved and trusted can suddenly change before our very eyes; how the memory we thought had vanished could return as a threat. Once again, Picoult handles an astonishing and timely topic with understanding, insight, and compassion.

one of my favorite by far by Jodi I say that when I finish each one. this one is a real thriller again with a unique ending. this is the story of a woman with a child who looks for missing people with her bloodhound about to get married and raised by her widow father. She has flashbacks of a live she never knew, then one day a knock on the door changes this secure life and sends the story into a total new direction like Picoult can do. WOnderful book right up their with 19 minutes I love that I can buy these on ebay I order them three at a time till I win the next auction, Book came to me in wonderful shape and so go Picoult fans and read this one you wont be sorry till you run out of her books and have to wait for a new one like Nicholas Sparks. I was taking a literature class at school ...

  • Vanishing Act

I bought this book after reading My Sisters Keeper and really enjoyed this read also. There were several twists that keep you reading and wanting to know the ending. I felt like the ending wasn't all neatly tied up fairy tale style, which just makes you think about how life isn't so neat all the time. I would recommend this book for a good summer read.

  • Vanishing Acts by Jodi Picoult

highly recommend this author .. am reading # 6 of a series of 7 books by this author that I own and each and every one is a winner .. so is purchasing on half.com .. and, each vendor advertised truthfully ..

  • Vanishing Acts

As with all of Jodi Picoults books, this one draws you in and doesn't let you go until you are done with it. Have enjoyed every book I have read by this author. She deals with very real topics that could happen to anyone.

  • Vanishing Acts by Jodi Picoult

I really like most of Jodi Picolut's books but I did not care for this one. The main character seemed spoiled and like a tease between two men--sleeping with both of them. She cannot keep track of her daughter who wonders off with a "maybe" child molester. I like a main character with a few morals and a little intelligence. I had no feelings for this woman and many times wanted her to stop whining.
