About this product

Product Information

The collecting of military theater made knives of World War II is one of the fastest growing fields of collecting in America today. These knives are very historical. They were individually handmade by people who wanted to contribute to the war effort, as well as the service men who used them. Most of these knives differ in style and have very colorful handles. This is the only book available that donates its entire contents to the collecting of theater made knives and their values.

While no single volume could be a complete collection of every type of knife in this 'theater made' category this book takes a good shot at it! The color photos are excellent quality and plentiful. That said I'd like to see more views of the knives rather than the single profile photos. Some photos show a single knife to good advantage while other photos show too many knives in the frame to provide any detail. Any future volume should include, both a Table of Contents and an Index. Overall, the book is a good buy and offers a valuable addition to this niche collector area.

I had hoped to get some more information about the military knives officially adopted and should have known better from the title. However, I ordered it before the Cole book. I am not in to knives as such....so the book, while very nice, was a disappointment to me and totally useless for my collection.
