    DR - Dragon Skins

I put the Dragon Skins on my Gibson SJ 200 and as soon as the strings were stretched and the instrument tuned and I started playing I thought wow, these are better than I expected. I have several acoustic guitars and have tried various string makers including popular coated strings. Other 'coated' brands turned me off for what I thought would be life: reasons like being too bright, a little slippery and overall a little fake. Anyway, I gave 4 stars for the Dragon Skins only because I haven't had them on long enough to see how long they last and keep their excellent tone. Definitely worth giving a shot if your'e thinking about trying coated strings. izston

    OK strings

They are just ok strings to me. My guitar plays better with a med. string, but as far as the dragon skin's are concerned even in a med., I will go with another brand. The sound is ok, but I am going for more than ok. and I don't see them lasting any longer than my usual. I am still glad I tried them out though.

  • Super tone, totally surprised!!!!

Iv'e had 14 years of strings on my Balladeer, none that sound this good- really woke up the true sound this old girl was hiding. These strings from now on....

  • sounds good - feels good

I have only had them on for a day, but they are good strings. I don't think there's a "huge" difference is strings (not counting the ones that are no good that typically come on guitars" and I usually use Ernie Balls for everything (most of what I have are electrics) but so far, so good - less squeak - not zero squeak, but unless you want to go flatwound, this is about as good as it gets.
