My 1st was 37 hours from your dock to my porch. The 2nd and 3rd were 4 1/2 and just under 5 days from your dock to installed. All are performing beautifully, 6 to 30 - 1.1 to 1.6 swr. Thanks for great product and service. AAA+++ About what I should expect for mates near my ancestors old neighborhood. (Sambourne near Redditch) God bless.

    Decent Antenna

For an inexpensive vertical antenna. It works good. I haven't made any DX contacts on it. But the bands aren't that great. My FTDX3000 tunes the antenna on all bands (80-6). I have it mounted on a block wall with a 75' coax. I have a endfed (very noisy) as well. The HF-80 has a low noise floor. OK I was in London, UK when I ordered the antenna. The antenna was shipped from GB SUPER FAST. Like two days. So it was great to come home and work on the radio. 73's David P.S. I will buy a 2nd antenna for a backup, field day or portable.

  • Top critical review

Good RF performance, bad construction for the price.

The antenna performs quite well on the air, actually, but the construction is the problem. It is very VERY lightweight aluminum. Mine is mounted only 7ft. off the ground and in a recent rainstorm it ended up permanently bent over. We didn't have any sustained winds over 25mph. There were some gusts to 40mph as the storm passed. I'm leaving it up til it breaks off, but will not be buying another one. The construction is very lightweight for the price.

  • Good value antenna

After reading the reviews i was a little concerned about how it would hold up in a windstorm. So, when i assembled the antenna i reinforced the bottom section [internally]with pvc that fit nicely. Ialso doubled up on the clamps at each connection and used a silver silicon material to seal each section at the clamp. It has easily withstood two 40-50 mph windstorms! So far so good!!!

  • Great antenna for the price.

Antenna was easy to build and easier to,put up, I get 1:1 match on every frequency throughout the bands after using the internal antenna tuner. I have it at 34 ft high and it works great.

  • Good Antenna at this price

The SE HF-X80 is a good Antenna with decent gain between40 and 10 Meters. As with any antenna, it does drop off approaching the upper and lower ends of the HF portion of the spectrum. An Antenna tuner is a definite requirement and the enclosed instruction do mention this. I do like that the Aluminum makes for a lightweight antenna and it collapsed size fits into my car perfectly for field day events. I use sharpened angle iron hammered into the ground for a fast setup with no guy lines needed. The Constuction quality of the telescoping antenna sections could be improved as there were burs in each section. A few minutes with a small file took care of that. The hose clamps were of poor quality as three of them started slipping on first use. I replaced them with a better grade of clamp with ...
