I owned two of these rods briefly for about a year. As far as I know there is only one manufacturer (In Israel) that makes these. I bought these over the Made-in-china stuff because I was looking specifically for a fiberglass rod, which has better flex versus a stiffer carbon rod found in most china-made telescopic rod. So performance-wise, these rods work if you're a skilled angler who's going to be chunking 8oz weights for big game off the surf. Otherwise I found the combo of length, weight, and improper balance of the rod made it awkward to cast. The lure rating is true to what's advertised. I was able to even chuck a 10oz spider weight with it no problem. The blank is pretty thick in diameter, which also added to the awkwardness. But if you're one who uses Ugly Stick bigwater surf rods, the blank size should be comparable. One thing that could've been improved was the shipping time. From Tel-Aviv to the California West Coast it took just over a month to receive 4-5 weeks. In this day in age that's a long time to wait.Read full review
