Battery was in very good shape when it arrived. They do ship it in a single-layer "bubble pak" envelope so it got a tad beat up on the way. Its really too heavy for such a small amount of packing. I dropped a star off the review for that. The battery appeared to be new when I pulled it from the packing. The battery test indicator showed it 100% charge (all leds lit when the test button pressed). I decided to pop it on the charger to see if it agreed with the meter. The battery showed as "charging" so it seems like it is shipped with almost full charger. The charge gauge (set of LEDs) on the battery itself light up when it is charging.. which is different from all the other Ryobi batteries I have. And now for the big disappointment- the battery is physically TOO BIG to fit in my Ryobi Mower! I dropped a star for that. To be clear, the battery works for my other Ryobi devices that do *not* have an enclosure around the battery itself- such as the leaf blower and the weed wacker/edger unit. The battery is powerful and lasted for yard work. However, this giant battery makes the tools much heavier and much harder to wield. I am considering using a Dremel tool to carve up the battery box on the mower to see if I can make the battery fit.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I mean, the place I really need the power and where the weight wont matter is in the mower- that's the reason I bought it in the first place! Attached are photos of how it simply is too big to fit into the Ryobi mower I have. I included one pic of the 5ah battery that does fit for comparison.

Lightweight and love extra boost.
Only used it once. Did not last as long as the originals. Maybe need longer charging time. Didn't seem to have enough power in the tall grass. Mowing in ditch that had standing water in last week, so couldn't mow at all last week.. The batteries are smaller than originals. and not as heavy .(a plus) As older person had some difficulty getting batteries out of mower. Great battery!
I bought this battery to replace the 4.0ah battery that came with my ryobi mower. The 4.0ah battery would run out of power with about 15 minutes of mowing left to do. ToThe 6.0ah lasts the entire lawn, with power to spare. I use the remaining battery power to weed eat around the house, before I put it back on charge. Blown Away
I just wanted a battery to replace the after market one that failed. I was patient with that battery and had to recharge it often when using my power tools. To my surprise the Ryobi 6ah battery was much larger and more powerful. Doesn’t work
