Kruger was incensed when one of his officials described Slocum's voyage as "around the world," since his religious beliefs convinced him that the world was flat!     Says it all.

    One of the great books. The true story of an older man, Captain Joshua Slocum, who rebuilds an old boat and is the first person to sail alone around the world. His journey catches the attention of the press and many people follow his progress throughout the voyage. Very exciting and readable. Can't lay it down.
