    Inexpensive Drill Press

    I just received this drill press and so far it was a good investment. I use it on light project woods (pine and alder), not construction, and so far it has met my demands.I will make judgment later on when I use it on hardwoods, like oak and birch.

    Would Not recommend This Machine

    Sorry to say, this drill press didn't make it past the very first use! I bought this machine, assembled it and went to use it to mill out a 80% Poly rifle lower receiver - the drill broke half way through the project. The casting was too cheaply made and weak, if it has been made from a solid piece of steel, it probably would of lasted a lifetime. Looking over the replacement parts catalog, there was no replacement part, I would have to replace nearly the entire unit, would of been cheaper to buy another drill press from another manufacture.

    Good basic quality at a great price.

    Easy assembly gets you up and running quickly. Very basic machine but does the job when you need precise depth that you can't do by hand. Only used with wood so far, but expect good results in metal if using good technique that doesn't abuse the machine.
