Whether you want to print crisp, clear manuals or borderless, lab-quality photos, nothing is too difficult for this Hewlett-Packard printer. Use the Envy's wireless printer feature with your smartphone, tablets, or laptops, including the Apple iPhone and iPad AirPrint. As described in the manual, a network connection is not necessary to use the wireless feature. Send your documents right to the Hewlett-Packard inkjet printer from your mobile device or home computer using the ePrint feature. When using the Hewlett-Packard Officejet printer as a web-based printer, you can print information from anywhere. Simply connect and print according to the instructions in the manual. The Hewlett-Packard Envy 4500 series printer handles paper sizes up to 8.5 by 11 inches, including envelopes, using adjuster bars. It comes with a 50-sheet input tray that folds out from the printer. The paper output tray includes an extender bar and can hold up to 20 sheets of paper. You can print on both sides of the paper with the automatic 2-sided feature and cut your paper usage in half. The paper tray can also be closed so that it's out of the way when not in use. Scanning and copying are a breeze on the Hewlett-Packard Envy 4500 because of its generously-sized scan bed. Select whether to scan in the standard photo mode or scan as a PDF right from the printer's LCD screen. The photo quality you get from this Hewlett-Packard Envy Officejet printer is outstanding. When you print borderless photos, you won't need to trim them afterward. ISO speed is up to 7 pages per minute for monochrome and up to 4 pages per minute for color. Copy resolution for monochrome is 600 by 600 dpi, and color prints are 600 by 1200 dpi. The 2-inch, crisp monochrome LCD screen on this Hewlett-Packard inkjet device is very simple to use. The control panel provides users with several buttons that guide you through printing, scanning, and copying with ease. Check the level of your Hewlett-Packard ink cartridges, complete regular printer maintenance, and turn the wireless connection on and off. Installation of the drivers for the Hewlett-Packard Envy 4500 series printers is quick so that you can start printing right away.     HP Envy 4500 Outperforms Newer HP Models

    I want good photos for my MS Word documents. I use five different HP color printers: ColorLaserJet M254, Deskjet 2540, Deskjet 2130, Envy 7100, and Photosmart 7400. The discontinued Envy 4500 has the best COLOR and CLARITY of them all, including the LaserJet. The Photosmart 7400 used to be best, but it's incompatible with my Windows 7, and I can't calibrate it, so I'm using it for black and white until the cartridge is gone. I've bought five of the HP 4500s for backups.

    Scan bar failure at startup

    The negative review issue is over the scan bar under the glass that failed to leave it's stowed position to scan. Only one end of it tried to move out into view on the first startup while it also made an awful sound like plastic gears turning while misaligned or stripped out. The initial startup printed an alignment test paper that is then placed on the scanner and so it gave me a failed scan, it's no go. I suspect the rest of the machine would meet anyone's expectations and though this is an inexpensive printer, It would cost me more than it's worth to jump through all the hoops to return it. For now, I can get by with the printer part of this machine but I think I will be looking at Cannon again.

    Paper jammed repeatedly

    I recently purchased the HP Envy 4502 because it was inexpensive & for its ability to print from a mobile device. I already had another older, more expensive HP printer, but it couldn't print from an app. This Envy fit the bill. Setting up the machine was not difficult, but one must set up an acct in order to use the mobile service. I was then able to print ebay shipping labels using my Galaxy S5 (must have Android 4.0 or higher) instead of a computer. Unfortunately, that's the end of the pro's. It jammed the first 3x before it actually printed a copy. Over the course of 2 wks, I wasted a lot of paper. It jammed repeatedly before it actually printed. Printing is also slower than on my older HP. I contacted HP & they offered solutions, but none worked. So I will be sending it back for a ...

    Unbeatable price for great a product

    Can't go wrong at this price, great product! This is my families third HP printer, I own one, my father owns one, and I purchased this one for my mother. My father literally paid 3x as much for his new model and it has almost the exact same features except the new 1's no longer have the nice little digital display screen for easy use. I will never buy a new printer again! Printer came out of the box looking brand new, no blemishes or scratches like some remanufactured products, ink cartridges are completely full. Take printer out of box, plug it in, log into your wifi and you can print! Its that easy, even if you are completely computer illiterate there is an HP service plug-in that will literally do all the work for you!
