They are authentic Bachmann rails and they power locomotives perfectly. However, the listing states "NEW" condition and about half the items I received were clearly used. Some rails had rust blemishes, some had slightly bent metal joiners, or misaligned rails that don't connect flush to each other. I wanted to expand an Acela set I bought the week prior so I had readily available new track to compare these to.
