    Great upgrade for older machines.

    If you have an old machine with a 945/965 chipset, this is just about the fastest dual core CPU you can upgrade to. It makes a big difference on budget machines from the time that shipped with slow single or dual core Celerons, or even slower Core 2 parts. This CPU coupled with maxing out the memory can breathe some extra life into an old machine and keep it chugging along as a basic workstation for light internet, office tasks and older games.

    Great CPU, and Fast!

    I replaced this with a Pentium 925, everything is working great. I am getting a bottleneck a bit though, only because the MB i am using old, but i plan to replace it. So if you have not switch over to a dual core, grab a core 2 duo and the e6600 is a perfect choice if you can't find anything. Just make sure you have an update to date MB, non Pentium era

    14+ years later still going strong!!!

    In 2020 this CPU is still a capable piece of hardware. With 4 GB RAM and a cheap SSD it performs great in all everyday tasks. It runs cool ,it is power efficient , it can run circles around pentium 4s and Ds and he is still affordable on the used market!!!
