IN MY CASE I USED IT ON A BADLY PITTED AND RUSTED HATCHET. IT GOT RID OF THE SURFACE RUST AFTER 2 APPLICATIONS (FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS). THE PITTING REMAINS BEHIND.     I learned about naval jelly just recently. I used it to clean stains from flower vases. Nothing I tried before had worked. It took the stains off and the vases look new. It did what I wanted it to do.
