    Item was as described. Shipping was by usps advantage. Not the seller's fault, but usps trashed the box so bad they had to tape it together. Fortunately everything was wrapped in plastic, so no parts fell out, and the lamp is made of metal and miraculously seems undamaged. Please consider using a different shipper in the future, as $13 for "usps ground advantage" only to have it treated like a football and then run over a couple of times seems kind of ridiculous, and 8 days for 800 miles = bad.

    GREAT RANGE BUT NOT 50 MILES (IN MY AREA)

    Communications were clear out to about 5-6 miles. After that they gradually were in and out. I thing 50 miles would be achievable if you were talking line of sight. The problem is that with trees, buildings, etc. between you and a second unit the signal is attenuated and deflected. Perhaps between 2 hills out in the desert with no interference 50 miles could be achieved. I do like the way they work though and the sound quality is quite good. I still would recommend them !!

    not even 1 mile range for me

    I am still looking for a long range walkie talkie, this one says 50 miles and I did not get even 1 mile. I live on city in Miami FL, plain flat land, tried and did not even get 1/2 mile the most I got was 10 blocks max. Does any one knows of a real long distance walkie talkie? I am tire of this false advertising, they should explain to details the terrain you need to be to get those 50 mile ranges, and should have a table to compare to flat land ranges. I am very disappointed, I previously purchase a 30 mile range and got me 5 blocks distance now another junk 50 miles that got me 10 blocks distance.

    decent for the price

    Obviously 50 miles is absurd but for reasonably close work and distance they are ok. I have not tested battery life but seems ok. Speakers could be a little better but that is my only complaint so far.

    For fishing on a river (wading)

    I’ve only used these radios one time so far, for fishing (wading) in a river. It has more functionality than I need. I only need the radio. Don’t need the flashlight or weather station. Pros: With privacy code, we didn’t have to listen to other people’s conversations. Sound quality was good, but we were only maybe 300 or 400 yards apart. The channels are the same as with my old two-way radios so I can use the old radios with the new ones. Cons: The radios are somewhat heavier than my old ones. The longer antenna is a bit in the way when I hang it off a D-ring on my fishing vest.

    Light weight

    I bought these for are cruise and that is not till Dec so I haven't checked out the range all that far yet. But husband and grandson walked a few blocks over and I stayed in house and they seemed to be clear with no static.
